Managing Administrators
See every member who has admin access, understand where their permissions come from, and manage the direct Site Admin toggle.
The Administrators page is found under ORGANIZATION → Administrators in the admin sidebar. This page provides a consolidated view of every member who currently has any level of admin access to your fellos site — whether that access comes from a governance role or from a direct Site Admin designation.
The Administrator List
The table shows every member who currently holds admin access. For each administrator, you can see:
- Member — the person's name and email address, with an avatar showing their initials.
- Level — the admin permission level: Club (site-wide), Org (organization and sub-orgs), or Local (single organization). See the Governance page for details on each level.
- Source Role — which governance role grants this person admin access. If they were granted access directly (without a role), this shows "— direct —".
- Organization — the organization where this person holds their role. For Club-level admins via direct toggle, this is blank.
- Site Admin — a toggle that grants or revokes direct site-wide admin access, independent of any governance role.
Role-Based vs. Direct Admin Access
There are two ways a member can gain admin access in fellos:
Role-Based Access
The most common path. When a member is assigned to a governance role that has admin permission flags enabled (as configured on the Governance page), they automatically gain the corresponding admin level scoped to their organization. When the role assignment changes, the access updates automatically.
Direct Site Admin
The Site Admin toggle on this page grants a member full Club-level admin access regardless of their governance role. This is useful for:
- Technical administrators who need full access but don't hold a governance position
- The initial site setup phase, before governance boards are configured
- Emergency access when a governance change needs to be made but no role-based admin is available
Use role-based access whenever possible. It's self-managing — when officers change, permissions follow the role automatically. Reserve the direct Site Admin toggle for the small number of people who need permanent, unconditional access to the admin panel.
Toggling Site Admin Access
- Find the member in the administrator list (or search by name).
- Toggle the Site Admin switch in their row.
- The change takes effect immediately. If you're granting access, the member will see the Admin Panel link on their next page load. If you're revoking, they'll lose access immediately.
You cannot remove your own Site Admin access. This prevents accidentally locking yourself out of the admin panel. If you need to remove your own access, ask another Site Admin to do it.
