Profiles
View other members' profiles and manage your own.
Every member in fellos has a profile page that brings together all their information in one place — contact details, membership history, roles, and more. You can view any member's profile by clicking their name or avatar anywhere in the app, and you can manage your own profile through Settings.
Viewing a Profile
To view any member's profile, click their name or avatar anywhere in fellos — in the member directory, activity feed, group discussions, event attendee lists, or anywhere else a member's name appears. You'll be taken to their full profile page.
A member's profile includes the following information (depending on your organization's privacy settings and your permissions):
Identity
Full name, display name (nickname), and profile picture. The display name is what appears in most places throughout fellos.
Contact Information
Email address, phone number, and mailing address. Displayed in easy-to-read cards at the top of the profile.
Membership Details
Member type (with color-coded badge), organization/chapter, sponsor, date of birth, and last login time.
Roles & Status
Any officer roles they hold (President, Secretary, etc.), admin status, and whether they're currently active or inactive.
Membership History
A timeline showing key milestones — when they joined, type changes, role assignments, transfers, and other membership events.
Extra Info & Attachments
Custom fields defined by your organization (certifications, equipment, etc.) and any uploaded documents with their approval status.
Editing Your Profile
To edit your own profile information, go to Settings → Profile in the sidebar. This is the same information that appears on your public profile, but from the editing view where you can make changes.
- Click Settings in the sidebar navigation, then select Profile.
- Update any fields you'd like to change — name, email, phone, address, date of birth, or custom fields.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Some fields on your profile may be locked — meaning only an admin can change them. Locked fields will appear grayed out or with a lock icon. This is common for fields like member type, organization, and certain official records. If you need a locked field changed, contact your organization's admin.
Profile Picture
Your profile picture helps other members recognize you throughout fellos. It appears on your profile, next to your posts in the feed, in group discussions, in the member directory, and in event attendee lists.
To upload or change your profile picture:
- Go to your profile or Settings → Profile.
- Click the camera icon on your current profile picture (or the placeholder circle with your initials).
- Select an image file from your device. Square images work best, but fellos will crop other aspect ratios automatically.
- Your new photo will appear immediately across the platform.
If you don't upload a photo, fellos will display your initials on a colored circle. The color is consistent — you'll always have the same color, making it easy for others to spot you in conversations even without a photo.
Extra Info Fields
Your organization's admin can create custom fields that appear on every member's profile. These "extra info" fields let your organization track information specific to your group's needs. Common examples include:
- Certifications — CPR, First Aid, specialized training
- Equipment — Bike info, vehicle details, gear specifications
- Personal preferences — Shirt size, dietary restrictions, emergency contact
- Organization-specific data — Badge number, license info, membership ID
Extra info fields are visible on your profile to other members (based on permissions), and you can edit them in Settings → Profile if your admin has made them editable. Some fields may be admin-only, meaning only an administrator can set or change them.
Attachments
Some organizations require members to upload documents as part of their membership. These might include:
- Signed applications or agreements
- Certificates (training, insurance, etc.)
- Background check authorizations
- Proof of eligibility documents
Attachments appear on your profile with a status indicator showing whether they've been reviewed:
- Pending — The document has been uploaded and is waiting for admin review.
- Approved — An admin has reviewed and approved the document.
- Rejected — The document was not accepted. Check with your admin for the reason and re-upload if needed.
If your organization requires certain attachments (like a signed application form), you may see reminders until those documents are uploaded. Some organizations gate certain privileges — like access to events or voting rights — behind document approval.
Membership History
The membership history section of a profile shows a timeline of significant events in that member's journey with the organization. Each entry includes a date and description of what happened. Typical entries include:
- Joined — When the member first became part of the organization and their initial member type.
- Type changes — Promotions, demotions, or transitions between member types (e.g., Prospect to Full Member).
- Role changes — When officer roles were assigned or removed.
- Transfers — Moves between chapters or organizational units.
- Deactivation/Reactivation — If the member was deactivated and later reactivated.
The history timeline is read-only for regular members. Only admins can make changes that create new history entries.
Privacy & Visibility
What you can see on other members' profiles depends on your organization's privacy settings. Your admin controls which fields are visible to which member types. In general:
- Basic information (name, photo, member type, organization) is visible to all members.
- Contact details (email, phone, address) may be restricted to certain member types or officer roles.
- Sensitive fields (date of birth, custom fields) may have limited visibility.
- Membership history is typically visible to all members but can be restricted by the admin.
If you have concerns about what information is visible on your profile, talk to your organization's admin about the current privacy configuration.
