Notifications

Choose how you hear about activity — in-app is always on; email and push are optional.

fellos has three ways it can reach you: in-app (inside fellos), email, and push. In-app notifications are always on — you can't turn them off. Email and push are delivery channels you can opt into, and they're only available if your site admin has configured them for your organization.

The notification settings page
Notifications preferences — pick which delivery channels to turn on.

Opening the Page

Click Settings at the top of the screen, then Notifications in the settings side nav. You'll land on a short page with two toggles under Delivery channels: Email notifications and Push notifications.

In-App Notifications

In-app notifications are always on and can't be turned off. They're the primary way you see what's going on — new posts in your groups, replies to your comments, changes to requests you're involved in, and so on. They show up inside fellos as you navigate around.

Email Notifications

Flip on the Email notifications toggle to have notifications emailed to the address on your account. Useful when you're not actively in fellos.

If you see the message "Email delivery is not configured for this site," that means your organization's admin hasn't set up email sending yet — the toggle won't do anything until they do. Ask your admin if you need it enabled.

Push Notifications

Flip on the Push notifications toggle to have alerts delivered to your phone or desktop as system notifications, even when fellos isn't open.

You may need to grant your browser permission to show notifications the first time you enable push. If you see "Push delivery is not configured for this site," your admin hasn't turned push on for your organization yet.

Good to know

Today's notification preferences are simple — one on/off switch per channel. There aren't per-category toggles (e.g., "email me for new posts but not for milestones") yet. If you turn on email or push, you get everything through that channel.

If You Accidentally Blocked Push in the Browser

If your browser asks for notification permission and you click "Block," push won't work until you re-allow it in your browser's site settings. The exact steps depend on your browser — look for Notifications under site permissions for your fellos URL and switch it back to Allow.
